Providing young people with life skills through wilderness adventure
The Burnt Lake Foundation (BLF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 that provides young people the opportunity to gain valuable life skills through wilderness adventures. Each founding board member shares a common bond from our youth-the unique life-enhancing benefits received from wilderness experiences.
Our goal is to make similar wilderness experiences possible for future generations of young people through the development and funding of a camp scholarship program. The Burnt Lake Foundation does not operate a camp. Instead, we are developing close cooperative relationships with a variety of wilderness camps in the Rocky Mountain region for which BLF scholarships are applicable.
Whether you are seeking a scholarship to go to camp or want to make a donation to help someone else receive the special benefits that only the wilderness can offer, come on in to our Wilderness Adventure Center. Check out the benefits to youth who experience wilderness adventures, why these programs work, and lots more!
Our website is currently undergoing major reconstruction. To inquire about receiving a scholarship form or if you are interested in making a donation or receiving other Burnt Lake Foundation information please call our toll free number 1-888-419-9992 or email us at BurntLake@aol.com.
Burnt Lake Foundation scholarships are currently available for the following camps:
Horizon Adventures in Colorado (www.horizonadventures.com)
Skinner Brothers Wilderness School in Wyoming (www.wyomingoutdoors.com)
Alpengirl in Montana (www.alpengirl.com)
We are now accepting scholarship applications for any of the courses in these camps.
We'll see YOU in the mountains!
